Sorry for the poor photo, this being one of many. The orange sections are a slightly cooler hue in the original but I could not get that subtlety in this image. One of the important elements of this composition is the shadow shapes on the wall and table.  The cool vs warm light on the objects is what this painting is all about and what I have strived to represent. Aren't black grapes beautiful? Every now and then there is one with a little rose blush and the blue highlights that skim over the surface of all was a fun challenge. I am always learning how to depict new subjects––I will never run out of things to paint!

I've had several paintings in the works and just now completed this one finally. I'm loving this piece of pottery, a new prop found at a thrift store. The lemon and apple look like little characters peaking around from behind, not intentional but I love that.

 I have another smaller 5x7 to finish up tomorrow hopefully and then on to a couple of commissions. One will measure 20" x 16" which is way larger than I have been painting in a long while. I plan on taking progression shots at various stages of the painting process for this blog. Thank you for looking at my work!
