Yesterday I finished the companion piece to a still life painting of plums. The collector wanted strawberries to pair with the 6"x 8" plums and I think she will love it! I've included a photo of both in my drying box so you can see how they appear together.
I'm wanting beach weather to return!! so I'm itching to paint a beach scene next. I have some reference photos taken in November when folks were still wearing swimsuits. Stay tuned....

This jar of honey containing the honeycomb was purchased over two years ago with the intention of painting it. I refused to open it until ready to paint! So glad I saved it for I do believe it provided a worthy subject for a little painting. I love the warmth of that translucent reddish sticky sweetness!

Hi out there!! It’s been a long while since I’ve painting regularly and even longer since adding 

to my blog.  I’ve moved to the beach and just set up my studio to begin painting seriously again after a few years of personal health issues and then caring for ailing parents. I’ve opened the next chapter of my journey here in South Carolina by the sea and am loving it already!

 My first studio painting is a commission from a collector to pair with a previous painting. I’m so happy with how my first painting in the new studio looks and the client is as well, so I’m on a roll!

Just finished another commission a day later (worked on both paintings in tandem) so will post soon.

I really enjoyed painting these plums with their blues and reds, larger size and smooth gessoed board. The original is so rich with beautiful translucent reds.

I've been painting a few paintings but have gotten behind in my posting. So here is the first of three still lifes that I'll be sharing in the next few days. I've several commissions in discussion and am in the process of painting a house portrait at the moment. This one is a present so no posting until finished and delivered.
