This is the latest DSDF challenge
from Karin Jurick's blog. This was a fun challenge in that I rarely paint figures anymore. Karin sure gives us a variety of subjects and keeps us on our toes! Meeting these challenges encourages me to paint subjects that I would not usually be drawn to or not have the opportunity to try. Thanks, Karin for sharing your photos with us!

Wow - Figures are hard and I think you did a great job! Plus it's such a fun composition you did here. The dog is precious.

Marilyn, I love what you did with the DSFDF beach scene! I tried it myself, and I like yours better lol! You added a story with the girl and her dog, plus I notice you added some clouds in the sky and more waves, and the color of the water is beautiful, you also did a great job with the reflections in the sand.

Ditto plus DITTO! on the three previous comments! It's really neat that you included the pup! Wish I'd thought of that! But isn't that what's so great about the DSFDF challenges?

I like the dog, title (haven't we all been there with our dogs?) and the way you handled the paint. Nice interpretation.

Marilyn,
Dogs at the beach must be on leashes. The painting is good, but as a pet owner that lives at the beach, I am keenly aware that subject matter like this just invites anarchy!

Hi Marilyn, I have an award for you on my blog!

Adding that pup really catches the eye on the DSFDF site. I've seen that look before... the next step is chasing him down the beach! It just fits so perfectly with the girl's hand on the hip. Engaging!
