Two Georgia Peaches - SOLD

Peaches everywhere and so good. Didn't think much about what to paint or how to paint this time. Just your basic 5x7 still life.

This is the stage where the composition is set and I begin establishing the darks and lights. I paint in color shapes to establish these light and shadow relationships. Often I like many elements of this stage of the painting more than the finished piece.

5"x 7" Oil on canvas mounted on hardboard.

I was hoping to capture that peach texture and the look of the soft skin on firm fruit. I'm happy with this attempt and more peaches to come.

wonderful paintings! I like the lighting coming in from behind the peaches, and throwing a shadow forward, that must have been a challenge to paint! Very nice. And thank you for taking the time to stop and take pictures while you worked! It's interesting to see how a painting developes.

Very nice, you can feel the texture of the peach. Appreciate wip photos too.

Thanks ya'll (Georgia peach)! Glad to have you stop in, the photos are for my guests (and for me to remember how to do it again)!

The stuff about being more satisfied in the early stages. In real estate development, it's called "killing the dream". Developers get to sell the dream, painters have to go on and finish the painting. I do like your peaches. I agree, much better than potato's!
