"Three Cupcakes"
6"x 9" Oil on stretched canvas.
This latest DSFDF challenge was a blast. I wanted to get started as soon as I saw the photo and it proved to be just as fun to paint as anticipated. Not taking the painting too seriously, I just really wanted to make it whimsical in it's color and handling. Currently on a "cleansing" diet that allows no sugar or wheat, I really enjoyed painting from a photo on this one rather than the real thing!

This looks great, Marilyn. I can't wait to paint this one, too!
Yeah Marilyn! This is fabulous...you imparted a real sense if fun with your color and brush strokes, well done!
Marilyn, What a wonderful painting, I just saw this challenge the other day, and thought it looked like a fun subject to paint. I like the way you chose to crop the scene, and love the shadows and colors!
Wonderful job with the challenge, Marilyn. It's a very fun piece.
How did you ever do this while on a cleansing diet? My mouth is watering just looking at it!
Joyous, Marilyn! this is so great. now I'm hungry.
Love it! You and I chose about the same cropping - what fun this was!
Wonderfully whimsical. I don't eat sugar or flour, but I feel I've overindulged just looking at this painting.
I love your crop, and the way your sprinkles balance the rest of the painting. Haven't started my painting yet, but all of you have sure set the bar very high!
Yum yum yum! I think I've raised my glycemic index just by looking at it!
