Thanks so much, Carol. I almost skipped it myself. I wasn't in the mood for architecture, but gave in. Instead I made the assignment about color for me. I wonder what she'll have us do next?

This is and excellent painting! I love how you handled the windows which can be a real pain. Your brushwork is fresh and colors are beautiful!
I think you've done well with what looks like a pretty challenging photo. Not only a challenge because of the architecture, but because the subject in the photo is in pretty low, flat light with little contrast. I like that you have played up the soft colors. It almost has the look of a pastel.
Wonderful painting, Marilyn. I love what you did with the windows - especially adding an oval one - very nice touch! Beautiful sky as well.
I say that you really like oval windows. It's such a bold look to paint it off center of the dormer like that. I didn't even notice! I would bet the architect would be pleased. For goodness sake.

Everyone did an outstanding job on this one. Jennifer is right about the photo being a bit flat in contrast. But that is what we are learning about working from a photo- learning to enhance it in our individual ways and to bring out what we want to say or cause the viewer to feel.
We are all so unique and when our work is shown all together, we begin to see everyone's individual styles and even our own.
Excellent painting i am happy that you did not skip this.
