Cherries on a French Cloth

"Bing Cherries"

5"x 7" Oil on gessoed panel.

This painting was all about the paint! Such joy in pushing around all those reds and grays and pinks and blues....

I've had little time in the studio so this piece spent the better part of a week half completed in the freezer along with my palette. I'm still amazed that all the paint stayed wet for me. I just wonder what the long term effect on the paint will be fifty years from now with all the frozen and thawed paintings around. Will we find that the paint turns green or something?

Your cherries look luscious and fun to paint!
I just put a painting the freezer for the first time this week...I put my paints in there so I thought why not? Now to figure out how to get the 24" X 24" that I am currently working on in the freezer!

Your joy of painting really comes through in this lovely little piece. Lush is a good word to describe it.

If I had room in my freezer to cram a palette in there I might do it, but it's too often filled with "emergency" suppers for nights when "the cook" has gone on strike. LOL!

Your cherries are great looking! They are not as easy to portray as one might think. I recently had a go-round with some on my blog.
